SL-CF-Optical Switch

The SL-CF_Optical Switch module features a wide optical input range and rapid switching time, providing cost-effective network backup and redundancy functionality.

Specifications

Description

This optical switch facilitates automatic and cost-effective network backup and redundancy, increasing plant reliability by providing for a self-healing network. It occupies only one of eight slots in a 2RU SL-ChromaFlex chassis. The wide input range (-10 to +15 dBm) meets a variety of application needs. Each optical switch has two optical inputs and a single optical output and can be operated as a 1×2 or a 2×1 optical switch. The switch internal detector measures the input optical level and switches when the optical level drops below the user-defined threshold.

Features

  • Wide optical input range of -10 to +15 dBm
  • Operates in both 1310nm and 1550nm windows
  • Direction insensitive
  • SNMP remote monitoring

Benefits

  • Reduces system costs by eliminating backup transmitters
  • Increases system reliability
  • Reduces downtime with automatic switching
